Your First Visit
Taking the first step toward resolving chronic pain can feel daunting. At Harbour Chiropractic Southampton, I make your first visit as straightforward and stress-free as possible. My goal is to move you from a state of uncertainty to a state of total clarity regarding your health.
During your initial New Patient Assessment, we move beyond just addressing surface-level symptoms to uncover the root cause of your discomfort. Whether you are a city centre professional struggling with postural strain or a resident from Woolston or Netley seeking a long-term solution to recurring injury, this first session is entirely dedicated to your story. We will combine a thorough clinical evaluation with a clear, jargon-free explanation of my findings, ensuring you leave with a tailored recovery roadmap designed specifically for your lifestyle and goals.

What Happens During Your Initial Consultation?
Your first visit is known as the New Patient Assessment. This 30-minute session is purely about understanding your body and finding the root cause of your symptoms.
1. The Consultation & History We begin with a conversation. I want to hear the full story of your pain, how it affects your daily life, and what your goals are for recovery.
2. The Clinical Examination I will perform a series of orthopaedic and neurological tests. This might include checking your reflexes, muscle strength, and the range of motion in your joints.
3. The Diagnosis (Report of Findings) I will explain exactly what is causing your discomfort in plain, jargon-free English. If I believe chiropractic can help, I will outline a tailored plan. If I don’t believe I am the right person for the job, I will refer you to a specialist who is.
Preparing for Your Visit
- What to wear: Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. You do not usually need to undress, but I may ask to see the area of concern (e.g., your spine or shoulder).
- Intake Form: You will be sent a digital intake form via email. Completing this before you arrive saves time and allows me to review your details in advance.
- Parking & Access: There is ample pay-and-display parking available directly within the Ocean Village marina, including the multi-storey car park near Cineworld and on-street bays.
